Government orders AirAsia to assign seat number to passengers

Indonesian AirAsia was recently scolded by the Director General of Civil Aviation, Tri S. Sunoko, who told the low cost airline to start assigning seat numbers on the airline's boarding passes. According to the Indonesian aviation official, the pre-assignment of seats is needed to help identify passengers in the event of an air accident.

Or you can take precautions so that planes do not crash as often as the average Indonesian plane does??? It more sounds like a regulation to make itmore expensive to fly to and from Indonesia with AirAsia, so Garuda will look a little bit better again. Stop that childish behaviour and praise AirAsia that they are openin up Indonesia for you because Indonesia is not capable of doing it!!

Try to identify body's after a crash. Besides from the fact that a passenger already eat the chair infront of him on the way down. And then on the crash site itself body parts can be found spread over 100's of meters.

Maybe the coroner can search for the seatnumber hidden in body parts and based on that identify the passenger? This aviation minister is what some people would call a fuck-up. Emoticon: Party!

Have you ever seen a documentary about a plane crash, like the ones on “National Geographic?” After the crash the seats are no longer placed from 1 to 77. As a matter a fact, from what I’ve seen there are no seats left…

It would be better to demand dog tags for all people who fly over Indonesian air space:

Indonesian aviation experts explained the reason for the life jacket under your seat. Actually it's for archeologists. Incase your plane goes down the stewardess will ask you kindly to wear your life jacket. When the plane goes in the ground like a f*ucking dart, after 200 years archeologists do excavation on the crashsite and think there was a river there.

I've been on a crash site about 4 years ago. You couldn't reconise seats as such. Emoticon: Party!

Here in Yogya they were just lucky that the pilot didn't park his plane in a downtown area.... so the seats were still in the proper order Emoticon: Party!

About that seat no. I think it would be much better when all Indonesian airliners use the same seating system like Air Asia and give passengers no seat number. as many Indonesians have difficulties to find the right seat no anyway...

The only reason for giving seatnumbers is for the longer flights to distrubute weight. Important for take-off and in some cases landing. During flight the cockpit crew can adjust the trim and pitch.

And ouwe bekende is correct with his observation.
I have seen that in many occassion.
I think their brain is switched off.

In some cases they don't even know what a boarding pass is, complete oblivious of the fact that they have a seatnumber. It's not even about beeing unpolite. I think it's funny Emoticon: Party!
