Hi,
i live in belgium.
Stayed 1month on Bali and drove around the place, and liked it a lot.
Only sad that the local people throw everthing away in their beautiful environment.
It's cheaper than Hawaii, thailand,...and the language is nice.
Would love to stay there 'maybe' in the future, depends on the complications with soc. securety, banking, visa papers,etc...also i should learn the language then.
have many questions 
Social securety is expensive i think!
In indonesia you have also the big banks like in europe, Deutshe Bank, Ing, Fortis,.... How much rent do they give and to you have to pay a lot of tax like in europe 15%... !
Can you rent a decent house at a decent price!

Wel i stayed in a hotel for 8-13$ a night breakfast included.
They sayed if i stay 3 months they make a cheaper price!
Also elsewhere i could rent a basic bungalow for 5$ a day if i was planning to stay a half year!
Problem is if you are a foreigner the price is X4 
Maybe i should stay 50/50 During summer in my country and winter Bali.
I'm looking for people who are living that way and that can give me some info.
Would also like to do something on Bali (work) i speak, dutch,Englisch,French,Little German.
Have to go to work now

Hey everyone, my name is Keenan and I just registered for this forum. I live in the U.S., but I traveled to Indonesia last summer to visit a friend. I've wanted to go back since I left. Unfortunately I didn't know Bahasa Indonesia when I went, so I feel like I missed out of some things. I want to go back ASAP, and learn to speak Bahasa Indonesia before then. So now I'm trying to learn it on my own to a certain extent, and I came here so I could get additional info on the language and Intonesia in general. See you around the forums!

Hi Keenan, I'm glad to hear you want to make the effort to learn Bahasa Indonesia. Actually, it's not that much of an effort, whereas the benefits are huge. In a couple of weeks, you can learn enough BI to travel around, and win the praise of the Indonesians for learning their language. They really appreciate that. I'll start a new topic on the subject today or tomorrow. See you there!

We just returned from our first trip to Indonesia where we visited our exchange daughter and met her family. We toured parts of West Java, East Java, and Bali.
