East Timorese people begin to regret secesion from Indonesia

"Independence from Indonesia is being enjoyed by only a certain group of people while the majority in remote areas have been living in deepening misery since the secession," Domingos said.

Yes I realize that.. one of my friend is living there and always complain about the price in USD and how expensive life is.. She wants to move back to Indonesia but her passport is Timor leste and Indonesian government seems very difficult to accept people from this place back... guess what HABIBIE thinks now!!! That dude is sittin'now somewhere in German and enjoy his so-called-fantastic life.
PS: Habibie is one of the Indonesian president that decided the vote. BIG MISTAKE!!! Jeroen... thanks for bringing up this issue!!

Right uncle Sid. Habibie had the guts to do it and a longer term vision then most of his fellow countrymen. He has been the only real president until now (well, he's not Javanese and therefore not hindered by a Javanese cultural background).
Anyway, he did the right thing. But if the East-Timorese did the right thing..... that's another chapter. Based on emotions they choose for independance. But can this small country survive on its own? I doubt. Ethnic wise and geographical it's a part of Indonesia; only the colonials created a divison between the western and the eastern part.
