Could anybody advise me on a hotel in Jayapura. I lived ther till 1962 and go back for the first time. A hotel name for Biak would be useful too as I rather have personal info, thanks

Mieke yth.,
Livingstandards are one of the not so cheapest in J'pura (because of 'lack of competition' or monopoly, like the rest in INDOnesia).
So my direct question is what kind of budget do you have ?
For alternative (cheap) hotels try to get yourself a good 'travelguide' for, everything is already changed after the sixties !!!!
"The INDOnesiä handbook" (latest edition) or one of 'Periplus' guides, if you are lucky their, cheap to get at "de Slegte" bookshop.
You can look for instance at: http://www. ecomelanesia.8k.com/PNG/PNGprovSandaun/visitingjayapura.htm
You can look at the user topic or 'search' for "Suggestion for a new main topic".
Anyway lots of succes with your journey. "Salamat kaki panjang di J'pura" !!!
Greets .... Anis.
