Anis ,
the javanese make mistake about choosing the name of Indonesia. ?
So what , they have chosen it with the other indonesian youths or students (you may also read the Elite of Indonesia) .
Even by the Ambonese people who represented bij Om Jo (Yohannes Leimena ) is accepting the name Indonesia.

friends,
what a discussion,
did you know, that the name Netherlands, Nederland, originally wasn't given by the Dutch themselves. In ancien times there was something like Europe, with a lot of small provinces, regions and dependencies. Finally the lower part of northwest Europe, was called the lower lands, nieder landen, neer land etc. and was used to sign that special part of Europe (which was meant as that region of lower lands) . NB before countries were formed, regions and provinces were exchanged, taken over or conquered to become finally a name. France or Germany also didnot excist under this name before 100 or 300 years. So who really is interested in a name given a long time ago.
Remember, like countrynames are not given by the recent generation, our names also are not given by us, but from our parents.
And because of respect of our parents, or the elder generation, we should accept their choise. Our psychological complex or frustration, to discuss something unrelevant as a given name, there are far more important discussions to held, like the economic situation.

S.mua yth.,
When INDOnesia became indepent of the Netherlands you have all sort of 'separatists' ..... like you have all sorts of republicans and federalists .....
I am always stuck by the onesided reactions of 'INDonesia-republicans' is, their fanatism to defend everything that is link to the INDOnesian republic; like the national ideology, for instance ....
Whilst doing this they act like somebody staring at his very own navel, by saying how beautiful it is, whilst their are billions of people in this world with navels that are more beautiful .....
What is the purpose of this ???
It is likely that the INDOnesian gournment camouflaging certain things that are 'undemocratic' .....
This is one thing ..... the other thing is that these people can not cope critisism; even for the better .....
This bahaviour makes it possible for certain INDOnesian olargic groups to manipulate issues concerning seperatism .....
For a while ago the INDOnesian gouvernment is talking the Moluccan issue down, nowadays the RMS/FKM is a threat the the INDOnesian national security .....
This is an example of Jakarta ethocentrism ..... making something big out of something small ......
I had an uncle who was accused, in the years of Sukarno, of RMS-political activity; in the Suharto era they accused him of cummunist political activity .....
; what is worse to be bitten by the dog or the cat .....
Sampai disine dulu, .... salam semua .... dimana mereka berada, Anis .....

Friends ,
we (the indahnesian)have not a problem.
Maybe the dutch , because they have forgotten their obligation to the ambonese soldiers .
The Indonesian have also no problems , because separatism wil be solved.
(ditindak secara tegas dan tuntas).

Harto yth.,
'You know what the difference is between 'your European' example and 'INDOnesia'; Europeans have the 'luxury' to decide for themselves the names they choose ..... INDOnesia had this 'luxary' only short after independence and when it came to 'a certain economic' level.
"But are the everage INDOnesian aware of this ?"
'When you are hungry, your first problem is food ...... '.
But still the question remains: "Why do give a foreigner an opportunety to give a name for the country; let alone a wrong name .... just look at the meaning of 'INDOnesia' ........
Sampai ketemu lagi .... Anis.

Anis ,
Choise beteween food or freedom is not difficult .
If you are free you can get food .
Otherwise it is not sure you have freedom if you have food.

Sidia yth.,
Yes, it is true .... but to have enough food is only a way to freedom ..... the problem is Sidia, there are ordinary people with 'a standard agenda' , but there are other people with 'an extended one'.
For them 'enough is not enough': .... "dorang tak terpuaskan" ....
I wonder whether this is related with the traditional INDOnesian family system, as you know most of the traditional INDOnesian adat systems do not recognize individualism in a 'western way'.
So corruption is also related to adat family systems and family groups and probably more exented ......
Just take Suharto as an example ......; what are the other links to his family group, will they still support him when he dies ???
Will there be a Suharto dynasty ???
What will be the 'performance' of Tommy ???
Will the family and relatives of 2 million 'political murdered ones' forgive him ???

Sidia yth.,
Thanks for your 'contribution':
according J.L.A. Brandes found in an old manuscipt on Bali, at the end of the 19 th century for Mayapahit all what they considers outside the isle of Jawa.
Dr. Steiabudi (Ernest Fr. Eugene Douwes Dekker) 1879 - 1950, a 'grandson of Multatuli, 'Nusa' means between two continents and two oceans.
