It is the deepest, heart breaking sadness I post that the Gorgeous, Happy, Always Laughing, Mad, Fun Loving - Nora from Rainforest Guesthouse has died.

She passed away in her sleep this morning.
She was my Indonesian sister whom I loved very much and I will forever miss her.
RIP Nora.

Pamela

My sincere condolences to her family and friends. Nora was a household name in Bukit Lawang and will always be.

Dangdude03,
Yes, she was a real Bukit Lawang icon and it is just unbelievable news.
About 2007 Nora and family created another home stay up along the river on the opposite side to most of the accommodation and called it Rainforest Guesthouse.
A few photos and reviews from TA.

Sorry to hear that, stayed at her place twice when visiting Bukit Lawang.

Thanks Pamela for sharing this bad news with us.
-Saya ikut berduka cita-

And thankx Jan for uploading this picture of the basic but homely guesthouse she had in BL.
As a tribute I just changed my avatar. I took this picture when I stayed at Nora' s Homestay for the first time in 2006. I couldn't go out because of the heavy rains and was waiting for an hour or so see te rain dripped off the thatched roof at the back of the guesthouse.

Thanks Anne Mieke.
I too stayed at Nora's Homestay in Sept/Oct 2006. Just corrected my date in previous post for new Rainforest home stay they built later.
Such unbelievable news.
